Our Story

A childhood spent outside in the fresh air playing make-believe and tag, building forts and mudpies, returning as the streetlights turn on with sun-kissed noses, grass-stained knees and dirty nails… this is what we hope for our children.

Yet today’s busy world, we see our children growing up stuck inside the four walls of classrooms, spending less time than ever with their families, disconnected from nature, their food and how it gets to their table, and facing a host of physical and mental health challenges.

It's a reality that struck our founder, Frank Stronach, to his core when he became involved in the agriculture business. Witnessing the widespread use of chemical pesticides and making the connections impact on our health, our children’s health and the health of our land led to him founding The GUHAH Way Foundation.

The GUHAH Way Foundation is a Canadian not-for-profit dedicated to promoting the importance of organic food for our children - if children grow up healthy and happy - exactly what GUHAH stands for - there is a greater chance that they will reach their full potential.

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision is clear - a future where every Canadian child has access to organic meals and education about sustainable organic farming practices in schools across the country.

Our mission is to champion this vision by uniting communities, schools, families, and advocates to ensure equitable access to organic food and sustainable agricultural curriculum. Through collaboration, education and advocacy, we strive to empower Canadians and shape legislation to ensure our children grow up healthy and happy.

BUILD COLLECTIVE

Creating a network of likeminded individuals who support our vision – our “supporters” who strengthen our collective voice and numbers to show just how important this vision is to Canadians across the country. You can do this right now – this will add your name to our list of supporters and sign you up for our newsletter to keep you informed of our movement and offer you opportunities to get involved.

School

Relationships

Building relationships with Canadian schools and boards – public and private - to support them in making the case for organic meal programs and implementing sustainable organic farming curriculum for their students. Socio-economic factors are at play when it comes to accessing organic foods so putting our energy here helps equalize our children’s learning potential and futures, offering an opportunity for a larger impact. We are working to build out an accreditation program for schools.

Organic farm

connections

Establishing and creating connections with local organic farmers. By creating demand for organic foods at a systemic level such as in schools, we can encourage more farmers to transition to organic farming, boosting supply and making organic foods more accessible.
